My print will be done sooner than I thought…
Yes. we all know computer status bars are SUPER accurate!
Top down printing so it takes negative time?
My print also isn’t 30,068 layers… no idea where that is coming from.
A lot of software tracks z movements as layer changes, if you have Z hop enabled you can get rediculous layer counts.
@Keith_Johnson Maybe it uses MIcrosoft Windows api for the bar?
Have not seen this in other prints using the same Slic3r settings and Astrobox. The only change is that I turned on vase mode for this one. Anyhow, thought funny enough to share.
Yep, vase mode will do it since it slowly raises the Z height as it prints the vase. As far as the host software is concerned, that’s a bunch of tiny little layers
ah…i see… It’s actually the first time I’ve been using vase mode. I didn’t think of it that way. But why doesn’t it count up a layer every time it shifts Z then?
@Greg_Nutt no idea. I’d have to see the software itself to debug that one. Possibly two separate pieces of code, one to count the layer changes in total and another to tell you which layer you’re on. If neither were designed for this I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t agree.
