I’ll probably be upgrading my Simples to this in the near future. will be interesting to compare it to the v6 from E3D
@Patrick_Ryan , I see you aren’t using the new extruder design, yet.
Thanks for the info @Brook_Drumm . My money is ready for this flood gate.
@Nathan_Ryan I was using the new extruder - it self-destructed on me. (Two bearings failed.) I’ve been meaning to mention that to @Brook_Drumm . But it’s probably a side-effect of this heat creep jamming problem, in that the additional load on the bearings caused the failure. I’m guessing if I just replace those bearings and move forward using a lubrication system, the new extruder will work fine.
Self destruction is only an amirable quality in rock stars and kamikaze pilots. Definitely not in extruders.
@Brook_Drumm , you mentioned that the stock will be enough even for competitors? Does this mean one can potentially upgrade his reprap to have dual extruder by utilizing these new metal hot ends?
Of course. Lots of people use our equipment on repraps! We love that!!
@Brook_Drumm are you guys using standard groove mount?
@Nathan_Ryan Yes. At least, it’s a drop-in replacement for the older one, so…
Correct.
@Patrick_Ryan Same as previous version doesn’t = conforming to a larger standard. :p~~~
It does if the previous one conforms to the standard. :P~~~~~~
Four years of engineering school… I can’t believe you didn’t suggest a hammer to make it conform to the standard. Did they teach you nothing?
Four years? Try six. (I was a little slow on Practical Hammerology.)
hey there. It will be maby silly question, but what is the piece next to nozzle (the one with orange bottom)? Thx
@Filip_Kotoucek Inductive level probe - used for auto-levelling the bed.
ou:) thanks. Ive never seen that
@Filip_Kotoucek Ships standard on Printrbots current gen printers. Also available to purchase separately in their store. Supported by Marlin firmware. G29 FTW!
