My second self designed 3D printed guitar body. This time I used my own Ultimaker 2 instead of Shapeways. Because of the small build size I had to print the body in parts. This was a test to see if it was possible to print a guitar body on a home 3D printer…
The sectioned look of it combined with the color makes me think of a beetle carapace: http://srolfe.com/wp-content/gallery/scarab-beetles/scarab-beetles-headon.jpg
That’s awesome! Files?
@Michael_Williams you don’t have a problem with string tension bending the body?
Simply bad ass… Do you have a video of the guitars being played? Wondering how they sound.
Great work!
Well done. A great piece of work.
@ThantiK yes indeed
I was inspired by http://freepages.misc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~larsonmorgan/beetles/beetle%20-%20Japanese%20Beetle%20(Popillia%20japonica)%20[MO%2006].jpg
@Michael_Spano_Jr_Ama the one at the left has a wooden center core so no problems at all , the other one has a honeycomb structure inside. Time will tell if this one will hold. Stay tuned !
@Chuck_Stewart thanks Chuck! here is a link for the one at the left https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uD9OwuDkq6E
In 2 or 3 weeks I’ll upload a video from the other one when I’m back from traveling.
For the project kickstarter time.
For you lean six sigma time.
