My small CNC project, not doing usefull work this project allowed me to understand the software and necessary controls, including limit sensors. I do recomend this kind of small project for beginners because alignment and tensions are a lot less critical than on larger models but they require the complete tools chain.

@Daniel_Wood Using 3 x L293D, i had to modiffy the GRBL to use this chips, because GRBL expects a step+dir driver
