Need help figuring this out.

Need help figuring this out. The print on the left is from a friend’s printer of the Prusa i3 X motor idler. On the right is my attempt to print it. I noticed this on a small print, and all the others I have done the orientation didn’t really matter. I don’t know how to describe but it looks inverted. Any idea why and how this is happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks right in Repetier Host, but prints out the inverse…

One of your motors (X or Y) is reversed. What printer do you have?

Graber i3 with ramps

X+ should move the extruder to the right, Y+ should move the platform toward the front. It should home to 0,0 with the nozzle on the front-left corner of the platform.

Awesome. Thank you. Rookie mistake, lol

Could I just switch around the stepper plug on my ramps board instead of retweaking firmware?

You can reverse the direction of a motor by turning its connector the other way where it plugs into your electronics.

When you do change the direction don’t forget to move your homeing switch as well, this happened to me too

@Kaiden_Campbell Yea I made sure I did that :slight_smile:

My PrintrBot Simple came with 2 motors wired in reverse. Luckily, I figured out to reverse the plug.
Is it common for the motors/plug to be wired incorrectly?

Haha same here and I fogot to move the switch before testing. Thought the printer was going to rip itself apart.
