New air assist head…17.00 bucks on Amazon, to my surprise it came with a lens installed.

That’s why I was surprised that a lens was installed…there was no mirror though.
I think you just got lucky. I bought the same from LO. Same price, no lens likely an error by them or whoever their supplier is. 
Could be…I ordered one and its on the way…I didn’t think it would have a lens with it so I guess I’ll have a spare.
One question: that head says it accepts an 18mm focus lens. I checked on my machine and it has a 12mm focus lens. So I know it won’t fit. Do the heads come with different size holes?

Looking at LO’s web site, they don’t appear to have a 12mm head either. So I’m assuming that folks are buying larger focus lenses then?
Yes 18mm it’s supposed to transfer more energy…I wouldn’t know I have yet to try mine out.
You can cut a small 18mm “disk” with a 12mm hole out of just about anything and it will hold the 12mm lens centered in the 18mm head. If you have a 3d printer it’s even simpler.
Does having a larger lens make a whole lot of difference? Say 18mm versus 12mm? Trying to justify the $52 price tag on LO. Easier to cut thicker stuff perhaps? Wood? Fingers … I mean, I’ve never done that. Nope, not me.
I get what your saying, I’m headed back to home tomorrow and I’ll try it out as soon I get there and try it out…I’m curious about the air assist, but from what I’ve read it dies make a big difference…then of course buying good US optics also id’s going to make a big difference.
The air assist definitely makes a difference. I’m just curious about the larger lens size.

Funny you should ask, it would appear that my girlfriend can’t tell an empty hole from a lens…lol…it didn’t come with a lens, I was going on what she told me…I knew it was too good to be true, but I ordered one the day I ordered the head and it will be delivered Tuesday so I will get back you you Marc G.
