New Atzeeg X5 Mini V3 and Viki 2 front panel for refitting the lab Makergear M2. I’m pumped to finally get a chance to play with Smoothieware.
HOWEVER, It doesn’t come with connectors, Panucatt doesn’t offer a kit of appropriate connectors as an option (yet?), and I can’t even find clear documentation as to what kind of connector it expects. I’m fairly sure it mates Molex KK 100mil connectors, old Molex naming scheme 2695-NNR (where NN is the number of positions, R because it has the locking ramp), my guess at current Molex part numbers below
4x 4pos: 0022012047
4x 3pos: 0022012037
2x 2pos: 0022012027
32x Pins: 0008500114
Can someone confirm?
My X3s and X5 was like that and I used standard PC header connectors, the 2.54mm ones. Ok they dont latch but I dont care as the box I designed for the board has cable clamping integrated to it…
Mine should arrive any day now, very curious as to what the answer is to this question! I may as well order the parts now if the typical plugs don’t work.(typical as in what fits other boards in the printing community)
I’ll update to confirm when ours arrive.
It’s replacing a RAMBo and the pitch is the same but the keys/detents on the existing stepper motor (and some other) connectors that came with the RAMBo would have to be cut off to fit on the X5.
If you aren’t worried about keying or latching the cheap/easy thing is probably to just buy a $5 assortment of “dupont” connectors.
@Paul_Eberhart that’s actually what I’d planned to do prior to this post. Is latching connectors a big deal or a “nice feature” but not really required?
We’ve melted a couple Molex Eurostyle connectors on beds/power inputs that came partly loose, so I’m wary about locking connectors now.
At the last moment before ordering I decided the connectors on the board looked like they were set up for keying (and keying will prevent future screwups), so the actually ordered housings are Molex parts:
4x 4pos: 0022013047
4x 3pos: 0022013037
2x 2pos: 0022013027
Which differ from the original post only in that they have the two little keying tabs to ensure they go in in the right direction.
Replying to confirm after two weeks of end-of-FY shenanigans.
The keyed Molex KK housings in my last reply (4x 4pos: 0022013047, 4x 3pos: 0022013037,2x 2pos: 0022013027) fit perfectly (no clearance between the motor connectors and the back of the motor driver headers, but they feel fine once seated), and the 0008500114 pins fit the housings. I sprung for some Engineer PA-20 crimpers because I’m sick of bodging crimp connectors with pliers and/or solder, and it was totally worth it.
Strangely, the fan headers on the board are on standard 100mil pins, even though everything else on the board is on the series of connector standard PC fans use.
