New Beta version V1.44 of #GcodeSimulator&Printer
Finally the printing can be done now by an Android background service.

  • Once connected, a service is started to handle the connection.
  • Print jobs will be done by the service, the App itself can be closed.
  • Print progress and temperature is shown on the notification panel.
  • Click on the notification, will open up the App and sync up with the service.
  • Printer connection can be closed by pressing X on the notification (be careful, it will stop your print )

To test, you need to enable the “Printer connection service” option.

All #GCodeSimulator&Printer community members can opt-in to get the beta version. Just opt-in here:

A network (http?) interface would be fantastic so that no screen is require for a dedicated android mini-PC.

@My_Makibox I plan to add a network interface in the future. But if you looking for something to run on an embedded mini PC without screen and only access via network, then Octoprint on Rapsberry Pi might be a good alternative.

@My_Makibox my current solution (meanwile waiting network interface) using gcode printer is via droid vnc(root device) but prefer quick support teamviewer but it need approve connection :frowning: ,

Mathias you are right and Makibox have rpi holder inside too and LOVE Foosel work but no want create a conflict and i prefer reuse old phone or tablet or android pc , ready to convert as junk and give new life.

In short term I/we? like you work and wait when you add a network support.
Meanwile in my case i using alternative solution with droid vnc + ip webcam apps .

At last but really important over all:
Thanks to add Service is really great new feature!!! well done!
