@Ashley_M_Kirchner_No I have personally worked for Debian for many years and we release all the code, helping others to learn how to write and build on top of what we have done and shared for many years. I find that reading code is the best way I have learned to code myself, and that’s why i was asking. I did not mean to accuse anyone of doing something wrong for not sharing. I was pointing out that some of the shoulders that we are all standing on are shared to us with very little or no restrictions.
Just because you, or Debian rather, does that, does not mean everyone does or would.

I have to say that Justin Eastman is a very generous person in terms of teaching and sharing his knowledge. Learning means that you have to make an effort. Justin is a great mentor. He was fantastic mentoring me and thanks to him I have learnt faster and my own way.
