New Vistacnc pendent, was as simple as plugging in the USB and loading the plug in inside of mach. Had it working within minutes of unpacking.

For me it makes manual operations as well as using an edge finder a lot more convenient. It dose not really do anything you can’t do from the screens or keyboard. For me it is worth the convenience that it adds. I worked in a big shop running big iron years ago and all used pendents. I am just used to working with one
Does the E-Stop button on the pendent work?
(On my chinese one it doesn’t. No idea what key it maps to.)

I prefer the chinese ones wit up/down buttons for all 4 axis, feed rate, spindle RPM, jog rate and start/stop.
No need for mode-switching and the ability to jog X+Y+Z at the same time for diagonal moves.
The e-stop works, I was looking at the Chinese one that are on ebay, but was unsure if it would work with my setup. I am running a dynamotion kflop controller with Mach3 on win 7 64 bit with no parallel port. I tried the Android pendent app that is available with Nexus 5 and it did not work properly with the kflop for what ever reason. I contacted visacnc before purchasing and they got back to me right away and told me it would work. I am building a router right now an plan to run it with a beaglebone black running emc so I will need to explore this again to see what I can get working with it.
It emulates a keyboard, so it only works in the first tab.
Except for the e-stop, no problems.
No setup needed.
Might give one of those a try for the next build, I did see someone had a hal written for it.
I bought the P2-S from VistaCNC. It works well. I still prefer the Shuttle Pro. Probably just because I’ve been using it for years.
