Newest project: open source arduino controlled sim shifter. I don’t want to spend $150 on a shifter for sim racing when I can just make one for $20. This is the first revision of the gates for the shifter. They might need a new spacing between gears but we will see. I’m using a 32u4 arduino Leonardo and Hall effect sensors to detect the gears. I’ll then set it up as the mouse when plugged into the computer.

I’ve always wanted to do this. I agree about the stupid-expensive off-the-shelf versions. I’ve wanted one that feels like a metal gearbox.

@Tim_Visible I just finished the code for it so I will be able to test it when my arduino arrives. I agree, a metal shifter would feel nice but the plastic is ok with me for now. Might switch to aluminum if it’s not too expensive.
