NEWS FLASH - I have made a discovery.
Raccoons eat PLA. Remember that rocketship birdfeeded I made ? I just had to chase off a raccoon that was EATING IT. It didn’t even have bird feed in it yet. HIDE YOUR PLA. Be safe.

It’s basically made of food - corn.
@David_Cushing its not always corn my friend. Various pulp roots are used to. That’s why different filaments smell different.
High fructose corn syrup filament. Yum.
