No Bre. Makerbot is Stratasys and Stratasys is Makerbot. You can not wash your hands so easily of your bullying.

Thanks for sharing @Billy .
As much as reading this was frustrating, and inspired many snarky remarks, I’m just going to pass, and try to refocus that energy on out-innovating people like this who hide behind a broken set of rules.
Yeah I agree that post was such a cop out. The one thing you have to admire him for though is his almost politician way of manipulating of words… All bre did was sell out. What is worse is having to ‘boycot’ companies Ive come to like over their support of bre mbi and stratasys. As far as me or my dollars are concerned they are one and the same.
“Because 3D printing has existed for decades, and there are thousands of patents, R&D costs are high. Patents recoup these R&D costs.”
Sigh. We need patents because of all the patents.
He doesn’t mention “Open Source” even once, watch some of his earlier appearance, when he praised Open Source “we love it” [at MBI]. He mutated now into a corporate talking head whose statements are predictable and one dimensional.
“Because 3D printing has existed for decades, and there are thousands of patents, R&D costs are high. Patents recoup these R&D costs.” but at the same time the company who owns the patents is not fully capable to use/market/commercialize the patents, and essentially stalls developments of others until the patent expires, best example is the RepRap surge of the last 2-3 years.
The current patent system is broken, and not just due to the patent trolls.
