Noob Question: What Prusa I3 MK2 fillament would you recommend for a modular skeleton type frame

Ok so the image I have attached provides a rough idea of the kind of form I envision for reference. Think of serveral 10x10cm cubes, slightly thicker edges and most importantly pegs (or alternative join setup)

The end result I hope to create will have an organic (clay/mud/bone) hut feel to it. I was thinking I could 3D print the “exoskeleton” to save on printing time and then apply clay as a layer on top to create a more organic feel. The web like structure would act as a supporting layer for the clay walls.

I’m planning on getting a Prusa I3 and I would like to find out what fillament you would recommend?

Requirements:

  • Relatively durable for modular joining together of parts
  • Suitable for painting

Technically it seem to be a skeleton, not an exoskeleton, that you require.

@Gentili_Giuliano Good point, corrected.

@jesse_jane thats not even remotely related

@Owen_Prescott  Prusa i3 MK3???

I’d stick with ABS or PLA, as PETGs like to string and PC/Nylons are hard to paint.

Seriously no one noticed he said MK3?
