Not bothered by any knowledge on how to successfully cut aluminium, I took it upon me to cut two gears from a 2mm sheet. The first two attempts went horribly wrong with aluminium being stuck in the endmill, so for the third attempt I changed to another endmill (I think 2 flutes instead of 4, from what I did read so far, it helps
), and reduced the feed (15 cm/minute) and depth (0.2mm per pass) drastically. The result is that I had an almost perfect gear (it did not come loose the way I planned it :\ ) in 90 minutes cutting. Perhaps it’s now time to read up on this.
