Yes, this will really work. it’s not the first instance of using 3D printing for bodyparts. There are quite a few experiments going on at hospitals and universities across the globe. One of the most popular uses right now is incubated skin cells of varying types used in processes for such things as burn victims. Printing directly ‘onto’ the person. It’s great stuff.
Metal sintering with specially formulated metals (Alloys, I assume) allows for the printing of replacement bodyparts with immense accuracy and smoothness.
All kinds of materials are being 3D printed these days. Not all materials are even artificial.
