Not sure just how poor this new’s outlets research is, but I fully expect #takerbot to file a patent on 2003 vintage tech imminently.

There is also a stone filament that has been in simultaneous development as Makerbot’s, it’s called laybrick sandstone filament.

Regardless of whether or not their research is actually that new, it’s good that Makerbot has realized the importance of adding 3d printing material options to the 3d printing market.
