Now this will get interesting… Axle shafts printed in Nylon! =)
Indestructible! =D
polycarbonate would be even better!
Which spec of Nylon are you using? Are you planning to build the whole thing? or just the most weakest or/and vunerable parts?
Are you gonna try printing the diff gears in nylon? I myself haven’t had much luck printing gears with nylon yet, to much stringing.
@Morgan_Barke I´m using Taulman´s Nylon 618.
I will only print the parts exposed to the most stress. I have also gotten some larger bearings so i will test to beef some stuff up a bit for even better durablility.
@Emile_Wim I did try to print the gears some time ago without luck, i will be trying again later for sure.
Great! I am going to start printing the parts with less stress, exposure and wear first. Maybe then get some nylon, if you have good results. Probably will use a stock metal diff though.
T-Glase might be even better.
I’ve ordered TGlass, but I have a feeling polycarbonate will be stronger, just more difficult to print
@Anthony_White , T-Glase is really amazing to print with, not difficult at all. It’s really on-par with PLA as far as ease of printing goes.
It´s just a tad bit annoying that it´s not possible to add pictures to comments in G+… =(
