OK so in my testing to figure this out. Here’s the same model from last night. Same filament. Same general settings. Only difference is the zitty one is simplify and the clean ones are slic3r 1.1.4.

So. Ideas?

But, I’ve heard such great things about Simplify3D until this week. Could it be that it’s not as great as it was heralded to be? Are you for sure on the latest version? If you figure this out, make sure you keep everyone updated…

Yea it’s an update that just hit about a week ago. I’m going to email support about this. Its been happening since 2 versions back in anything cylindrical. This is just the first time its actually effected anything real other then aesthetics.

I’ve had almost the exact same problem, but with slic3r. You could actually see it in the repetier slicing simulation, they were like little blobs of over extrusion. To remedy it all I did was switch to Cura with almost the same settings and it was fixed.

yup you can see this in the simplify sim. Its only in round parts. Anything with rectangular or irregular shapes it donesnt appear near as bad.

@Joe_Spanier its weird. I haven’t updated yet and just printed 10 variety of cylindrical parts without this issue. Export your factory file and let me try it on my printer to see if I get the same issue.
