Ok stupid question but I’m wiring up the motors for my smartrap. I’m confused as to if the bed is the x or y axis. Anyone know?

Worst case you will just end up switching the two motor connectors, later on if you notice your parts are oriented 90 degrees off of what you expect or mirrored, you can swap them or turn them around again.

Mirrored is the only real problem. Or maybe if you have a decided difference in travel between bed and carriage. Otherwise, just mark the axes and move on.

To make it easy, look at your printer from the top view. X is left/right, Y is up/down.

^ this doesn’t help for a new maker who doesn’t know/hasn’t decided where the “front” of their printer is.

doesn’t the bed on trap move on the X lft/rgt and the extruder arm on the Y fwd/bck and up/dwn will be the Z

Smartrap’s Y axis is the bed. X axis is the carriage.

Thank you all so much! Evan that is how I have it!
