On my mill it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. That’s just what blow molded HDPE shavings end up looking like. The second time was a charm with this dovetail stage I cut out here.
That does look pretty cool…
The part I mean, not the plastic snow…
@Mat_Helm
Thanks. Yeah this one has a good feel to it to me. The first one was too tight, then I cut it once more, and it was too loose. A couple thousandths either way makes it, or breaks it. The rest of the machining I need to do with this is not nearly so close tolerance. I need to dig a pocket in the female to accept the lead nut. Then a channel for the lead screw. That is all it is what it is. I got plenty of meat to work with to make it all happen. I guess I can still screw it up. But I’d have to try really hard to manage it.
Is that a dog food bag?
@Chaotic_Logic
cat litter actually. It stops some of the chips from spreading around. You should see how I have the table setup when I am just milling blocks. But to do this work I need to see what I’m doing.
Very resourceful
@Chaotic_Logic
I usually use the bags as garbage bags in my shop. But I have more for that than I really need. So I come up with some other uses for the bags. They’ve basically the same thing polyethylene tarps are made out of. Just a lot smaller.
I’ve been collecting dogs bags for a while now. For the reason of sewing them all together into a giant tarp
