One more try at uploading this video of my first run at using John

One more try at uploading this video of my first run at using @jlauer 's Chilipeppr. I’m still “fiddling” haha with the buffer, but ran a couple of big jobs on it yesterday. Every time I sit down with this I learn about some feature. Really excited.
Shown with a dry run, 4mm tool, 10kRPM.

I think you have almost exactly the spindle I have.

It’s the 400w from the site. It does have a dedicated 48v power supply.
You know… You could mimic the mount I’m using. I had to tap holes in the mount, and the extra piece of 20x80 causes a slight more moment arm than I like, but it works.

I will definitely watch this once I get home (g+ video is blocked here :frowning: ). I have not had my dose of chilipeppr for too long. Too long my friend.

I was using tgFX prior, Chilipeppr has made using my little OX 4000 times better and I’m not even using it to its full capacity yet!

Yeah, I’m loving it. Maybe I need to upgrade to an Ox and get some serious milling going.

If you ever decide that, please let me know. Would be a honor to give back to someone who gives.

What spindle is that

400w 48v from the site. Power supply to match. I’m pretty happy with it I would like to have more torque, but looking at expanding the X axis and the weight cannot go up much more on the 20 x 60.

Cutting Aluminum is how I do it.

Nice. It looks like you’re getting ok sized chips. Do you use coolant or lubricant?

I use coolant.
