Sigh… kind of sad this was posted right after new (ludicrous) laws were passed for drones in Canada. I used to build my own, but dumping the hobby since I can’t even fly them in my own backyard anymore.
Seriously… 
Not allowed to fly within 9 km of an airport – we’re a city of 15,000 but managed to have two airports… one at each end of town. And even without that, it’s illegal to fly one with 75 meters of any building, vehicle, or person.
Rules created because of stupid people who won’t pay attention to the rules anyway.
Yeah… but I’m one of the “good people” (responsible flyer) that these laws are penalizing – not one of the irresponsible ones that will fly anyway. It’s easier for my level of interest) to not fly at all than fly under the new laws.
I used to dabble in kite aerial photography. Maybe time to pursue that again! I bet there’s all sorts of 3D printed equipment I can create for that.
