OpenR/C Formula 1: I have had two people reporting the holes in the chassis

OpenR/C Formula 1:
I have had two people reporting the holes in the chassis do not line up witht the body. Is there anyone else who have experienced this problem, or could it simply be printer related?

Depending on the ammount of elefant feet effect (level of first layer), i did run into issues since the body were printed angled but the bottom plates were flat. Many printers run the first layer with slicer settings of .3mm but print at a distance of .1-.2mm to increase bed adheasion. With more difficult materials like ABS and Nylon you also have different shrink ammounts in vertical and horizontal direction.

Have they mentioned a specific part where the bolt holes were off or was where they saying that all holes are off? I didn’t have any problem. When I printed it all of the holes were fine, I agree with Klaus that it may be a slicing setting that may be the culprit.

I only had a minor misalignment for the nose for which I had to force a bit. I have not identified the reason though. The rest is spot on

No issues with alignment. However, be aware that CraftWare slicer may add supports inside the nut slots. Remember to manually remove those supports before slicing or have a joyous time scraping out the holes. BTW, nut holes are aggressively tight.

Also had to drill out the servo saver holes to get them to tap properly.

mine were perfect, couldn’t have been better

Ok, thanks for the feedback! How about a small chamfer on the holes of the body touching the buildplate?

No alignment problems here. Everything fits with precision.
