Optical Endstops Problem

Hi @ all!

I’ve got the smoothieboard just a few weeks ago, but had no time to test it. Today was the day! I disconnected some stepper cables from my teensy and connected them to the smoothieboard, and they moved (even in the right direction). So far so good. But my optical endstops doesn’t work… The pins are correctly plugged, the LED on the enstop is on - if the (for example the x axis) carriage moves to the home position, the LED goes off but the carriage don’t stops. I tried to invert the pins in the config file, but it doesn’t help…

some ideas??

Hi !

How exactly are you homing ? Are you using the homing Gcode ( G28, or the “home” button in your host software ) or moving the carriage to the endstop and expecting it to stop there ?

Cheers.

Hi,

wow, thanks for the quick answer. It seems to work with the home button. And yes, i expected that the carriage stops (using the movement controls) there, it was possible with my old board, even with the “normal” movement controls, so it’s new to me.

Yeah we are working on making that work, it’s a missing feature, we have a few small ones like that. Should arrive in the code soon-ish.

Cool, good to know that. Thanks one more time for the impulse - i was desperated about one thing and didn’t try the option, haha!

Hi! What optical endstops are you using?
