Ordered a K40 for a laserweb test bed while I figure out my big laser.

What is everyone using for the middleman board? With my last k40 I just gutted it but that actually sounds easier.

+Peter van der Walt​ CNC isn’t on GRBL anymore. Wired back to linuxCNC.

@funinthefalls ​ its a 24*48" 100w cutter. My power supply is dying so I’m waiting for a new one from china.

The limitations of GRBL really.

Not having that ability to change feed rate live, the fact that in order to stop a program you loose your work offsets, things like that.

I loved the way the tool touch off was so well integrated and how small the board was. But those are minor compared to the above stuff.

@Joe_Spanier ​ I didn’t realize until the other day you were moderator of the FB laser cutting group… I can’t wait to see what you do with upgrading your K40. I love watching your video tutorials with stuff really found the the oops shared cad live feed very informative despite the minor technical difficulties. Hope you do something about K40 upgrade

I’m starting to recognize the cross pollination between the two platforms. I’m not as active in the group as I was. When I joined there were like 5 guys a couple years ago. Its crazy how much it’s grown.

Thanks for watching my videos. I’m getting ready to change jobs and I’m hoping that will give me more time to work on stuff like that.
