The really interesting thing about prosthetics is this: if we assume (reasonably, I would argue) that at some point technology progresses to the point that prosthetics become as functional as natural limbs, then at some point very shortly thereafter, prosthetics will become superior to natural limbs.

The logical progression of this is left as an exercise for the reader.

You mean like Oscar pistorius’s prosthetic legs that would let him compete in the Olympics with what many see as an advantage over able bodies athletes. That ship has sailed.

Well, sort of. I was thinking more along the lines of people electing to replace healthy limbs with prostheses, as an upgrade.
