Anyone use the new ‘DesignSpark Mechanical’ CAD program and print out a .stl model to see if it’s measurements translate to the realworld correctly? Here is a model I made to test when my bot is up and running again.

Will try tonight.

I have used the software, its very easy to use but not printed any model. The measurement should translate I believe.
Please let us know your result.

I could not get to run on my iPad even with chrome.

@Geoff_Drake couldn’t get what to work?
DesignSpark Mechanical?
That program is Windows only I believe.

DesignSpark is based on a real CAD program (SpaceClaim), and in CAD you always work with real world units. The only translation error that could happen is if you didn’t work in millimeters. I’m guessing working in inches may be an issue, but I have not tried it - nor do I plan to, since I do not use Windows at home.

Works pretty well 40mm and 15mm for the hole.

Sorry, the actual website to find out details about it.

Ahh @Geoff_Drake it might be a flash thing.
Tnx @Nacho_Teres for printing and checking measurements.

I tried printing test cubes, it works very well .

1 question: I did a 10mm cube, design and found the printed object is nearly 10.25(I am using analog caliper) and my nozzle is 0.4 mm . Is this a accepted behavior? Do we need to take the nozzle dia into account when designing ?

Before that i check the filament size adjustements of flowrate and ad a cooling fan
