Having my #replicator2 for less that 6 months and already have some thermocouple issues. I used my printer just normally.
Hope @MakerBot1 will find a good solution for me.

Honestly, 6 months of flawless operation is pretty damn good. Despite my hatred for #Takerbot .
On my point of view, it is not quite acceptable. Having to unmount the printer during warranty time is not a normal service.
Makerbot support told me the thermocouple wires (here in yellow and red) should not bend… but there is no place for the cable to pass through.
Quite pissed off! Even if I am a real NOOB in electronics, I think I will try to explore the Reprap world by mounting my own printer if @MakerBot1 does not make better with its customers service for which I paid for.
Sorry, but it sounds like you didn’t do enough research before making your purchase. These machines are fickle. 6 months of operation without problems until now is not bad at all. And yes, currently in this field, having to disassemble pieces of your printer for repair is pretty standard for warranty service, even if you get warranty service at all.
The level of support you’re asking for is not what you get for $2,500…this is still a very DIY-centered field.
I’ve had our 2x at work since October. The first time I had to tear the extruder apart was a week and a half in. 6 months is flipping amazing. These are machines. They require maintenance. The fact that takerbot is advertising otherwise is wrong in their part and I’m sorry you were mislead. But overall based on mine and other’s experiences with them your one of the good ones
As you may see on the pictures, the thermocouple cable is damaged which is not due to anormal usage but, from my point of view, a misconception The cable is intended to by straight on almost 5mm… which is quite impossible here due to X axis chains.
This thermocouple failure is not due to a lack of maintenance…
Oh right. Sorry. Your totally right. Their wire routing/planning is god awful. We had the wires fatigue on the y axis as well. Lost all the connections to the motor and limit switch. May want to check that too.
Be mad about shitty designs. That’s fine. Sorry for the confusion.
It’s nothing… Right now, I am reading documentations about building a RepRap… Building one is not the goal at the moment, but understanding a Reprap should help.
