This is the latest. Skull was 3D printed, a student added the horns with red sculpture wax. The metal is brass, but turned out more copper. I only had the mold (casting investment) in the kiln up to 1000°. Student forgot to put exhaust ports on. As we poured, we realized that not all the plastic was out. We had 1’ flames shooting out & I pressed on. We had some splash out, so that is all the metal that we ended up with. If we would have had the exhaust ports, we would have been good. It worked like lost Styrofoam casting. I will try that with a 3D print soon. We were short on time because he is a senior and came back to do it
fun stuff. It is 11.5 lbs.
