We are putting together a list of #UK based #makerspace 's that offer the opportunity of learning #3dprinting .

We have tried to verify that all locations offer 3D printing as part of their resources.

If you know of any other UK makerspaces that offer 3D printing resources and that are not on the list please get in touch via the contacts page on our website. or post your comments below.

Couldn’t you bring yourselves to put a skirt on one or two of those stick figures in an at least token effort to include the other 50% of the population?

@Mark_Wheadon
It was just supposed to convey people rather than different genders.

If they are clothed stick people, then as far as I am aware, women can wear trousers as well now.

Of course this could be a representation of the latest trend in naturist makerspaces.

:wink: Well that’d certainly make for exotic-looking safety equipment.

My thoughts were: sexist-no girls!, wait what if they’re not wearing clothes, then sexist-no guys!, then I thought, actually, they’re probably all wearing pants.

@Alex_Wiebe
So correct me if i’m wrong. Are you saying that either:
A. their wearing clothes in which case they would look like men.
B. their not wearing clothes, in which case they would look like women.

If so you are seeing something different in the picture than I am.

It could be that the ratio of arm length to body makes them men?

My thoughts were unedited. It’s probably more a commentary on my old-misogynistic brain that I’m trying to adjust than anything else.

Sometimes in the desire to be inclusive we end up being dumb. I would like to think the picture is a group of people. Someday we’ll get there. So my first post was a (badly humourous) attempt at self healing.

@Alex_Wiebe
It’s good to think about these things. it’s interesting that in something as simple as a stick figure people can see different things.

The other thing is that the makerspace is racist! only orange people are allowed to join, the white people have to stand outside and only dream about 3D printing.

Unless said white people have a spray-on tan.
