I added the STL to my blog page, if anyone wants to try it.
@Mark_Zimmerman you might want to look on my site for some of the SketchUp design files, they are for the Galaxy S5 and IPhone 4S and IPhone 5S, but they will get you started:
Just bought my gopro last week with the intent to use it for some time lapses. Awesome design!! I will definitely print and use one!
@Mark_Zimmerman start with a set a of digital calipers, and print and test the attachment, before you print the whole thing, just my 2 cents
Very cool. Gotta take some class’s in 3D printing.
@kweezy_fosheezy just start playing with SketchUp, its free and very user friendly (used to be a Google product). You can download a plugin that will allow you to export a STL file (the file used by most 3D printers).
What’s the best printer on the market. I had looked at one that was close to 10grand. What would you suggest for 3x3 or 4x4 area?
Depends on your price range. I have the UP Plus 2 ($1300), which is great for ABS and I know that things I need to make, turn out nearly perfect every time. If you need something cheaper I would suggest the Printrbot Metal Simple. I can do 5x5x5, so can the $600 Metal Simple, but it works better for PLA, mine for ABS.
