Hobbed my first bolts tonight. Tried 3 Different thread pitches. Going to test and see what gets results, and may try some more different threads. May offer them for sale when I find what works best!
Neat idea. I’m still running 3mm filament with geared extruders so the hobbed bolts are a nessasary part. That and I spent about 5years making gears with hobs, shapers, grinders etc. So this was fun to play with. I have some ideas to do it better
Hmmm… How does one hobb a bolt? What kind of equipement is it necessary?
Im using my lathe and a custom jig I printed. The “hob” is actually a tap just a tap. So im experimenting with different threads and qualities of taps
@Joe_Spanier Any results on which works better yet?
