Ok Not having to run down to my basement to check on the printer is amazing. thanks @OctoPrint !

@foosel , as always, thank you for all your work on this!

You are welcome :slight_smile:

Yea I cant wait to do more with this.

@Joe_Spanier take a look at the wiki, there are some recipes of fun things to do with the event sub system

OctoPrint rocks :slight_smile:
Its what Raspberry Pi’s were made for :wink:

What webcam are you guys using. My Logitec C270 has of issue with focus. Also what settings are people using. I want to improve the quality of my timelapses… Man do I love that feature. Its great for troubleshooting a failed print that ran overnight.

@Eclsnowman I use a c270 and modded the focus. It’s set too far for regular printer mounting, but you can easily open the cam and adjust the focus ring manually. There are videos on YouTube on how to do it. Works wonders

If you’re using a pi I don’t think you can do much better than the pi cam! Either with my mmal based mjpg streamer mod (currently in octopi IIRC) or the new (ish) v4l2 driver with the stock mjpg streamer!

Indeed a true savior. Coupled with an SSH server (on same Pi!) and a dynamic DNS service it allows me to connect from the outside and watch my print while away from home (and call my family members asking to go and push the stop button if errors develop :))
At least, it used to be that way - lately, my Pi flatly refuses to connect to my Sanguinololu. Sigh…

I’m using the Raspberry Pi camera as well. I even designed a camera holder/mount to go on my Mendel90. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:239268

@foosel perfect. Thanks.

Im using the c270 as well. I just got it and it seems to be working well. I just went to BB and got the cheapest one on the “should work” list. It was a good plan :slight_smile:
