It makes me want to design a very tall printer with a fairly wide X axis, maybe 12 inches, and a very shallow y axis, maybe 4 inches. Just for printing flying wings.
A long aluminum extrusion z axis with delrin v bearings could carry a rigid rail for X and the y could be a small rail sticking out for y. The whole xy stage would be fairly light. I think it would work. Z might even work as a belt with my typical serpentine path over a geared stepper… I don’t think it would be a problem to raise the whole xy stage.
With a 1mm tip, and using a design to print in case mode, I think I could print a flying wing drone very fast. In a few hours.

you better design a arm extruder with wheels so it have no limit on X,Y… Z need a arm-quadcopter …
avoid wifi, web and i’m a happy client for this
You guys will be very interested in these 3D printed wing designs. You do not need a large 3D printer. http://3dlabprint.com/index.php
- wings limit the flying speed
- a quick look at wings tell me that pay to print this kind of design is a waste
very nice
