very cool
Overrated imho.
I could not work without my space mouse.
I’ve got the basic model and it works great with OnShape, but I’ve not had any luck getting it to work with Fusion360. It’s amazing how easy it makes manipulating the view, though it took me a bit to develop the touch.
@ThantiK as a manufacturing engineer who spends 5+ hours a day in CAD (usually Autodesk Inventor) I can assure you that these are not overrated. Sure they’re probably a bit more than needed for hobbyists level design, but once you fully learn how to use them, and get comfortable with it, they are a huge time saver and make manipulating large models and assemblies so much easier
Gave mine away, kept my old Traveller though, not that I use it much anymore.
@David_Regis I’m using it perfectly with fusion 360. I still need to adapt my brain to it, but I’m happy with it
More overpriced than overrated. I use the 2-button version 8 to 10 hours a day with Solid works. I’ve never felt the need for all the other buttons. But I know people who do use them. It seems to be a choice between them and keyboard shortcuts.
For hobby or occasional CAD work, they might be overkill, but nice to have. For pros, I do think they pay for themselves. Just not as quickly as the marketing claims. I guess you might call that overrated, but that’s a long way from not being worthwhile.
@Dale_Dunn I’ve ge this used, so much much cheaper than a new one, works perfectly and it only have a small mark of use. Really a great deal
2 button version is awesome with Solidworks
@Javier_Prieto when will we finish ours?
I’ve got a SpacePilot Pro at work, use it with Inventor and its really nice. That newer SpaceNavigator has the shortcut buttons in a more convenient location. They are useful, but hard to say how much more useful than the keyboard shortcuts. The general 3D mouse part of it is SO useful.
I also love mine. Of course I have an ancient navigator I bought used for like $70 in 2008 to play WoW with(cursor and character movement with one device, leaving the entire KB for action buttons). It sat in a box ever since i gave up that scourge of a game. Since I do so much CAD now I figured i’d try it out. one word: amazing. Wish i had plugged it in years ago when i started trying to design. It’s the best. But I have to use the old depracated drivers. Can’t afford a new one but this still works.
@Chapman_Baetzel I get this used and it was 190€, so it was great price
you can get a Space Navigator for around 50$ on Ebay. payed 35 GBP a couple of year ago.
GREAT ! (Sketchup , Fusion)
@Griffin_Paquette some year jajajajjaja
