I’ve been remembering the array option in #Freecad and I’ve created this spool for the filament. It’s not pretty, but i think it will be functional

@Mark_Rehorst thanks for the info, already know about support, but didn’t think about splitting it on two sides.

I will modify the design and print it.

+1 on why would you want to print the spool holder…
This is another thing that goes on and on in the reprap world together with the 4-point-bed-leveling. Filament spools best unwinds when off the spool and on the side, filament being pulled upwards just above the spool (arghh can’t find right nowa pic online to exemplify).

Is a new economic movement. You buy filament to print a new spool , once you have the spool (and no more filament) you must buy more filament to fill your printed spool. You can repeat this loop forever and create an infinite spool movement :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously. Why not? He created the spool to learn how to use the array option in freecad. Is a good job, with some fails, but a good job, why not sharing this job? The best thing about the open source movement is that people can use your creation in ways that you never imagined. For example, this spool could be great as a little spool for sewing, or as a spool for some wires. Better shared that forgoten forever in some old folder.
