My printer is making this awful noise. Amy idea what could it be?

Thanks!

La verdad no me dio cuenta, parece algún tipode arrastre. Verifica los acoples del eje z que no se estén alfojando, a mi me paso y la tensión de las correas. Suerte!!!

Sounds like a fan is loose. High frequency vibration affected by direction of travel.

I agree. Fan is most likely then possibly a bearing but given where the noise is generated I’d say fan first.

loose fan? bad bearing? cranky steppers? lack of lubrication? pick one…

Sounds very resonant - like loose fan or housing

from watching the video it seems to me that it only makes the noise when printing the closest part of your print. Perhaps you have an Un-level bed causing the nozzle to lightly scrape the top, thus making the scratching noise?

@Domm434 I’ve leveled the printer and I don’t think it’s that.

I will check everything you have said, altough I don’t think it’s lubrication or the motors.

The noise is produces when the printer it’s on the closest zone. What I’m thinking it’s that a I’ve made a couple of prints with the bed unleveled so maybe the bearing it’s broken… Not sure.

Thanks all

Does sound like resonant vibrations, most of the time I find it to be a lubrication issue.

@Ax_Smith-Laffin I think I will clean and lubricate everything in there

sounds like high resonation viberation

The fan would be easy to check – just disable (or unplug) it for a print.

I’ve screwed every screw, clean and lubricate every smooth and threaded rod and the igus linears sliders (not sure if those are the proper words, if not, please tell me).

I’ve also found what I belive it’s the main problem in here… The table is unleveled, make the printer very unstable. (I’ve added some rubber feets to compensate, but I’m thinking about getting a proper table).

I’ve not testet while printing yet, but the axis movements seems very smooth and they move without making any noise but will update tomorrow.

Thanks everyone!

I don’t know exactly what made the noise… I have changed a lot of things to determine what the cause is, but it’s fixed anyway

Thanks for your help!
