For X/Y motion control, do you have any “flipover” singularities where you need to completely reverse the angle of the 2nd joint on the arm to get to the next position?

Or are you just planning to restrict either the far left inner or far right inner portions of the build envelope as forbidden to make motion control easier?

I have done the easy solution so far. Once I get good results with no arm mode swaps then I will experiment with them.

What software would you be using? I left my reprap lander bot in the dark after the first tests due to busy life. Glad to see a design that grows the scara family.

@Florian_Ford ​ I am using Smoothieware. It was as easy as one could hope for when writing the firmware.
