Ok, I’m intrigued. Is there more to tell?

@Brook_Drumm Think free roaming Printrbelt. @William_Steele We still have some firmware work on auto leveling but it seems to otherwise be ready for the extruder.
That’s cool! Shots of the whole thing?
I can just imagine…
How many times do I have to tell you! Not on the carpet!
But mom…
or
Not on the ceramic stove top!
But mom, I needed a heated bed!
Sweet. I love how this community just keeps riffing!
Ok, so I had aluminum rails on my Big-E to stay straight over 8ft. I think I’d need some sort of guide rail if I’m a tank rolling on the ground.
Funny, I drew an arm like this the other day but threw it out… I just can’t get over the extra length needed. It’s what totally keeps me away from deltas… I’m obsessed w small. But the tank style rolling on the ground does appeal!
The polar3D firmware Im using would work fine w your bot, would it not?
Btw: save me some space at MRRF. I enjoyed hanging w you last year
@Brook_Drumm where can I get this firmware source and what is the target board?
I will absolutely save you some space.
Bill just hooked me up at polar3D. He has my first Printrbelt but has done his own- a couple actually. We used a Printrboard. I’ll send you a few if it helps, but marlin might be fine. There is a raspberry pi plug-in and repetier slicing post processor on thingiverse too. Let me know if you need anything.

@Brook_Drumm Thanks for the offer. Due to the Scott Russell kinematics I think I will stick with Smoothie so I don’t have to learn how to hack on another firmware platform. I have been adding a lot of goodies in to allow for HELIOS to fully home and bed level with one accelerometer on the effector. This can be directly ported to this bot.
