Who needs walls?

I printed this section of a sphere to show the internal structure of Cubic Subdivision Infill in Cura2.4+. I had an aha moment when I realized the infill was dense enough at the surface to not need walls. I don’t expect to do it often but it is incredibly strong and has an interesting texture.

Looks really cool :slight_smile:

Awesomeeeee

What did you do? Set the perimiter count to 0?

@NathanielStenzel  exactly.

Amazing

Is it crazy if this makes me wonder about potential application in water filtration systems?

@NathanielStenzel for water filtration application use I guess you first want to check toxicity details about the printed part (both source filament and printer’s hotend). I have no idea how food-safe printed parts can be.

@Miguel_Sanchez there is food safe pla. I’ve seen people just sanding and using a silicon spray to create a smooth and easy to clean part.

The future is almost here

Wow!!! …
