It’s alive(ish)! I got it moving late last night. There is still a lot of tuning and tweaking to do before it cuts anything. I need to figure out why the Z axis doesn’t like moving up. The motor is strong enough, I hope. cnc #CNCROUTER #OPENBUILDS

Congrats Nick, I know the feeling.
About Z. check for alignment and preload on bearings. What I did (in my case) was, get everything loose, then move the carriage to one end, then tighten (not too much) that end; then move the carriage to the opposite end and softly tighten that end; then move it back to the other end, and adjust if needed, and firmly tighten that end, then move back to the other end and firmly tighten it. It worked really well

@Nelson_Trujillo thanks. I think you are onto something. I wasn’t happy with how the alignment turned out when I assembled it, but thought it would be OK. That is what I’ll be working on tonight.

@Nelson_Trujillo I fixed my Z issues last night. I added spacers to give me more range of motion for the bearing alignment. Runs nice and smooth now.
