figured out something useful…
i have one conductive filament called f-electric, that is highly conductive and i have the “old” conductive filament which is highly resistive. by using them together-f-electric mated to the wire and the highly resistive one as a resistor, i can design the proper amount of range between high and low states, ie, a more stable slider for the finger sensor.

in addition, the ninjaflex make very decent custom rubberband springs.you can barely see them because they are clear-ish but they will look great when light is projecting thru them.

today starts the trial and error process of wiring them all up and stablizing their output, which is now mostly a design process. the primary thing working against me right now is the resistor trace delaminating over time as the roller wheel errodes it over time, but so far that process takes a while.

this configuration is only for testing. the next finger sensor mount will be more adjustable.

so far the only soldering necessary is melting wire into the conductive plastic. the rest of the design requires no tools for assembly. only wire directly to the arduino. will post those photos tomorrow.
