Is it overdone if the hotend has 24K? :thinking:

24 Kelvin is quite cold!
oh, gold…, never mind…

You must want some seriously good conductivity haha

@Griffin_Paquette well better than aluminium but copper is better. Why does everybody think gold is a better conductor (even electrically)?

Because it had the best conductivity of any element, which is why NASA uses it in all their telescopes and satellites

@Matthew_Del_Rosso wtf are you talking xD

@VolksTrieb sorry about, that its second best but it doesn’t tarnish keeping its great connectivity unlike the champs silver and copper

@VolksTrieb nvm, i can’t read german, lol… but check below

according to wiki, the electrical conductivity of copper is higher than that of gold, but the thermal conductivity of gold is higher than copper

@Jeremiah_Adams according to my source it says kupfer (copper) is better…

ya I could understand that much German XD, my bad though it was always my belief that gold was better.

@VolksTrieb upon further reading, i do find that it says pure copper (Pure element) is indeed better thermally…

Just wanted to make it clear ^^

@Matthew_Del_Rosso its used in space applications for corossion not for conductive properties

I think my interpretation of 24 Kelvin is less controversial.

@Fred_U lol

Oh…the wife is not going to like this idea. :slight_smile:

@Bruce ya I relised my mistake too late lol

it would go well with a diamond nozzle…
