My attempt of cooling six hot TMC2100 stepper drivers on a smoothiederivat with slow and silent airflow.

It wont be better to have one heatsink per driver?

All other factors being equal, more mass in the heatsink(s) will improve cooling. In his case, it seems that single heatsink would have (even if just slightly) more mass than 6 smaller ones.

Another advantage I can think of is if one (or a few…) of the drivers runs particularly hot, that larger heatsink would help.

also, you could cool the heatsink better with just one fan.

Water didn’t work?

@Jeff_DeMaagd That is another printer :joy:

@Rene_Jurack , nice, we seem to have the exact same idea, i have the very same board and drivers, and a sketch of a very similar heatsink that i plan to mill out of aluminium to be able to go with a silent cooling solution

you could also do this:
