Google Glass Bridge - A 3D printed adaptor for universally mounting various glass frames to your Explorer edition Glass.
This is my 2nd prototype design created in #Sketchup and printed on my #Ultimaker (UM1) with various color PLA. I have finally achieved a nice smooth spring tension for the bridge that slips in and out almost as good as OEM. This design is held together with two 1.4mm diameter 4mm long micro screws and currently donor frames are mounted via two micro zip-ties allowing the native Glass nose pads to slip right through the mounting portion of the bridge. Each frame will take individual consideration as you need to clear the top right lens frame for viewing the Glass prism. With this method you can choose to cover the prism with the lens (like OEM shields) or mount low enough (easy with square frames) so you look above the frame to see the Glass prism (great for self darkening lenses or shades as you get unfiltered display clarity).
Once I get a solid final I will post this design out for free so anybody interested can give it a whirl via 3D printer. I will even post links to where I sourced the screws and micro springs via eBay mega cheaply.
If you are an Exploreer you can log into the Glass community forum and review more shots and some of the earlier revision changes if you like @: Enterprise Edition – Glass
I have a few other projects posted in the community and I’m working on a few other Glass related projects that I will share soon.
Oh, and I like to party.
