PLA at 244° C? Sounds…smoky. How much cooling do you have on the build plate?
That’s a cool part, though.
@Joshua_Albers I know, this purple Ultimachine PLA requires quite a bit of heat to extrude at 100mm/s without stripping. I wanted to shoot a video so you could see the output is pretty good but, zow on the temp! I have the nozzle wrapped in heat shield too so I’m not loosing temp there; it just seems to take quite a lot to push it through and there is no evidence of burn or additional smell…
Interesting. I print mine out at 195C at 75mm/s

Purple PLA seems to need higher temp than normal. I have some from another vendor and it’s the same, it won’t extrude at all under 220c.
