I think this is Cool!

It has WOW factor for sure.
The bed can’t move to its extents in that cabinet and you’ve either got a teeny little spindle, or the cabinet is huge
Don’t go through the trouble of making something that nice, and use cheap round rails. Hiwin rails are not expensive at all.
Very nice good
@Mike_Thornbury the bed can move fully to both its extents in the cabinet, with 6 cm free either side just in case. The spindle is ludicrously small in comparison. but at the moment its the only one I have, till I attack designing a new spindle for it. With nema 34 motors and around 450 kg in the mill itself, the kress 1050 is just a temporary thing!
@Alan_M that’s a good idea! This one was designed around the same round rails I have on a wooden version of it. Where would you suggest buying some decent Hiwin rails?
@Alan_M is there a lot of difference between the hwin ones and round rails?
Hiwin are definitely worth it. And not expensive.
So I was right, it is FKNHUGE
if that’s a model of a Kress 1050…
In fact, I think I just won the naming competition…

What do I win? (And don’t say stuff like ‘undying gratitude’ and ‘everlasting love’, I’ve got a dog!)
I would guess the 20mm HGW hiwin series with medium preload to be around 50-100X stiffer than round rails.
Not that the round rails are flopping around, they certainly work, but if you graph force verses deflection, you will see a huge difference.
The hiwin rails will lead to a much better surface finish, because of less deflection.
very night &good idea
how W x L x H ?
i need build structure cnc
by 3d cad you help check for me
@Mike_Thornbury Hahaha awesome!! I shall get the name plate printed first!! I’ve got to have that on it!! Could be a good selling point later on!
I will have to see what I can come up with prise wise!

@Alan_M I will definitely have a look into that! It would be nice to get this one working perfectly!
@thaiengin_sert thanks! It’s 1,2 x 1,2 x 1,8m off the top of my head for the cabinet. The table is 60cm x 70cm with a travel of 50cm on the X axis, 60cm on the Y and 20cm on the Z
