Great to see the excitement around 3D printing as an innovation. I love it that my college can see beyond the everyday curriculum and invest in approaches beyond the ordinary. After all, what does melted plastic have to do with business curricula? It does, but one has to think outside the proverbial box.

Last night, in my Multimedia class, we looked at how we can create 3D models in #Blender (http://blender.org) for animation, which we usually do every semester, but this time, we also printed the 3D model on a #Printrbot . That was amazing! Creative Commons designs, Open Source printers and software packages make this an experience of cognitive surplus (Cognitive Surplus - Wikipedia).

Thanks to @Brook_Drumm and @Printrbot for coming to @San_Francisco_State and kicking off the excitement! The best part is the joy and enthusiasm in my students. You can see their creativity gears turning

Great job of putting the write-up together by @chris_sanchez
