If you already have a clay mold why scan/3d print again before cast?
@Mark_Rehorst , some people are just better with their hands. Digital tools can’t replace tactile feedback, and the ease of simply creating the thing in real space.
I found that starting with clay and then adding detail and putting final touches digitally is the best of both worlds.
PS. That is also how characters in major animated movies are made. The initial models are done in clay.
